The Runoko Rashidi Institute is a California-based nonprofit corporation organized by the family and dedicated supporters of Dr. Runoko Rashidi.
Our Purpose
The purpose of the Runoko Rashidi Institute is to foster global understanding and respect for our shared human journey through the amplification of African and African Diaspora history and culture through the researched educational efforts of Dr. Runoko Rashidi.
Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure that future generations benefit from the legacy that Dr. Runoko Rashidi dedicated his life to, which was researching, documenting and disseminating. This will be achieved through the archiving of Dr. Rashidi’s photographs and publications.
Our Goal
Our ultimate goal is to develop a curriculum on the Life and Research of Dr. Runoko Rashidi, and to promote the curriculum for use in Middle Schools, High Schools and Colleges.

Carol Strong
Founder and President
Sister to Dr. Rashidi. Founder and President of the Runoko Rashidi Institute. Mrs. Strong is committed to the mission and values of the organization.
Teresa Dobson
Secretary
Personal Assistant to Dr. Rashidi. As Secretary, Ms. Dobson manages the Institute’s structure, website and social media presence.
Donald Strong
Treasurer
Donald Strong is the nephew to Dr. Rashidi. He is a dedicated core member supporting the expansion of Dr. Rashidi’s impactful work.
Anthony "Tony" Browder
Honorary/Esteemed Advisor
Founder of IKG Cultural Resource Center and Director of the ASA Restoration Project. Mr. Browder brings invaluable experience and is an Honorary Advisor to the Runoko Rashidi Institute.
Atlantis Browder
Advisor
Ms. Browder is the daughter of Anthony Browder and Vice President of the IKG Cultural Resource Center. She is an Advisor to the Runoko Rashidi Institute.
Robert "Bob" Lott
Advisor
Mr. Lott is the Executive Producer, Producer, and Director of Teamwork Media Group International. He is an Advisor to the Runoko Rashidi Institute.
